The "Author and Finisher" of our faith...

I have kept a journal for many years.  Writing helps me to process things, thus the creation of this blog!  My journal has been a great tool for me to spend time with God every day.  I use it to write out my prayers, to write down things that God is teaching me and things that we are still working on together.  One of the best things about having a journal is to be able to look back and see how God has answered my prayers and to see His hand moving and working in my life.  I don't think that is unique to my life, I believe He is moving and working in each of our lives; but my journal helps me to recognize Him in my life.

Last night I went back to the beginning of 2009 just to see what I had been praying for in my life. Here are some of my requests:

  • Help me to see with Your eyes
  • Help me to see the opportunities You bring into my life
  • Make me an accurate reflection of You
  • Convict me of Your truth
  • Thank you that you are in charge of my physical body (prayed back in February!)
  • Help me to recognize You
  • Help me to honor You in all I do
  • Help me to wait on You, to rest in You
  • Help me to pray without ceasing
  • Help me to walk with You and to be like You
  • Help me to remember that You are my God, You are in control, You are working
  • Draw me deeper and closer to You
  • Help me to give in to the pressure of Your hands and to be malleable
  • Help me to keep trusting You in spite of anything
  • Help me to understand You a little more
  • Thank You that You are completing Your good plan
  • Teach me, stretch me, make me, use me
  • Help me to be fully committed, 100%, body and soul

Funny thing, I think God is answering my prayers!

"And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns."  Philippians 1:6

  2. Laura, this is Dina Dreessen in Costa Rica and prayed for you at 12:30 in the morning of June 12 that God would completely heal your body and bring you to full healthy restoration. He will carry you through this time and as you draw close to Him, ENJOY every moment with Him as you experience His presence. GOD healed me of ovarian cancer TWICE! PRAISE HIM!
