From Sarah...

I finished week #4 of chemo and radiation today!  Two weeks to go!  The side effects are still minimal and manageable.  THANK YOU to all of you who have been praying for minimal side effects!

I thought you might like to read Sarah's response to one of my recent posts:

hey mamba! i miss you a lot! i read your blog and it made me cry because i hadn't read it in a while....thanks a lot ;)

and you have of course loved me enough and taught me enough. for example, you have taught me:
1. how models pose, because you know of course
2. peanut butter toast and cheetos can always make a good lunch
3. it doesnt matter if you have 12 pairs of little black heels, you can always use one more.
4. threatening your children with throwing away their stuff if they dont pick it up doesnt work... ;)
5. informal gymnastics or dancing in the kitchen is perfectly normal.
6. prailines and cream ice cream is the best one hands down
7. excercising is good, but not as good as eating another piece of bread
8. loving your family is most important! :)

thats just a sampling, ill have to write down some more later! love youu and miss you! tell dad heyheyhey! and that i love him too!!!

I have definitely learned more from my kids than they've ever learned from me!  Family is the most important, and mine is the best!!

And this quote was sent to me from a sweet friend, love it!  :
"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along'….You must do the thing you cannot do.” ---Eleanor Roosevelt

Hope you all have a great holiday weekend!

  4. I shared this with Laura, but I got that quote from an old (as in previous, not age!) Communication professor from A&M, Mike Stephenson. As of this past January, he is a cancer survivor. God healed him of Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. He is a strong Christian man - living out God's power! The same is true of Laura.

I love you, Laura - and know that now, my "kids" (babysitting) are reminding ME everyday to pray for "Ms. Laura" at 2:50pm!! Precious. God healed their Nanna - in each of their prayers, they claim the same for you!

  5. Laura,

I was thinking of you earlier today, and it hit me - how many people from COF are now praying ALL the time. I mean everyday driving to work, I prayed for the mission trip and for Bruce and I pray for you every day when I read your blog. I'm just one person and I know everyone is praying. At other churches, you would hear people wish other good luck, but at COF you automatically hear, "I will pray for you" and I know it's being done. Not only have you taught your "home" family great things, you and Mark have taught me how to pray and how to tell people not to worry, I'll pray for you and to mean it.

Thank you and thank you for your blog - it's wonderful.

  6. I love that post from Sarah!! I think you have taught them all those wonderful things and more :). Why else would we be celebrating the 4th a Boll Weevil in mind?

  7. This post made me wonder if I am teaching my kids what they really need to know. So I asked! And Annie answered that I have taught her 3 things.
    1. how to make a pony tail.
    2. how to speak.
    3. how to make a baby bottle.
I think I have a lot of work left to do!
    Love you Laura!
