Loud and Clear

Today I was spending time reading my Bible, thinking on His word, journaling, and reading some of my devotional books. The weird thing was that every book I opened, I read essentially the same thing:

"I will never leave you nor forsake you."

"Nothing can separate you from my love."

"Be assured that I never abandon any of my children, not even temporarily."

"My presence watches over you continually."

"Can a woman forget the baby she nurses? Can she feel no kindness for the child to which she gave birth? Even if she could forget her children, I will not forget you." Isaiah 49:15

"And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39

OK, God, I hear what you're saying. How could I miss it. You will be here. You won't leave me.

Even as I am writing tonight my daughter, Ashley, comes into the room and says, "Hey mom, I was reading my Bible earlier today and I read some verses and they are for you. Let me read them to you."

"Don't be afraid, I've redeemed you. I've called your name. You're mine. When you're in over your head, I'll be there with you."  Isaiah 43:1-2

The same message. I'll be there with you.  I don't know why God is telling me this so strongly today, but I'm sure I'll find out!

I hope God is giving the same message to Stacey today! Stacey will be having double mastectomy surgery Monday at noon. Please pray that her surgery will go well, pray for her physical and emotional recovery, pray for her healing from cancer, and pray for God's supernatural peace to surround this family. Pray that Stacey knows that God won't forget her and that He is there with her. Thanks!

  1. Laura, I wanted to share with you what a blessing your blog has been to me! My name is Jana Williamson. My husband, Byron, and I grew up at Champion Forest. Byron was in school with Mark and Kerry and I am the same age as your brother Carey. While I am not personally walking through cancer, your blog has been an encouragement in a way you might not have imagined. I am a pastor's wife also. I love being a pastor's wife and the ministry God has blessed us with in Rosenberg. I have the joy of mentoring some amazing women. I have found that many times that I am searching for a Godly woman to "spur" me on. That woman who's walk challenges you to the very core of who we are. That woman who's testimony in her own trials causes you to want more of Jesus. You have been that woman to me through this blog. I so enjoy reading your very honest entries and they always "spur" me on. Thank you for being so real and I want you to know that Byron and I are praying for you and for your family.

  2. God wraps His arms around us with amazing peace when we need it and sometimes He does it in advance. Write these things you have read today and put them somewhere and when and if the day comes when you are feeling mighty low, read them and know that they are for you or better yet, hide them. Just when you really really need them, you might just stumble upon them.

  3. I am praying for you both, as I do every day. Isn't it amazing when the Lord shouts out what he wants us to hear! We love you and count it joy to walk this journey with you!

  4. Sweet Laura, I continue to pray for you daily and I did not read about your friend Stacy until today, Aug 5. I will add her to the "C" prayer list and pray for her too. I love you. Marilyn Lewis
