All I have

I woke up this morning with this thought, "Today is a gift from God. Don't let it pass you by."

Since coming face to face with my mortality, I have naturally given a lot of thought to the future (or lack of one?), but I have also begun to realize again what a gift each day is. It's really all we have. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow isn't guaranteed. Today is all I have. And it's all you have.

So, take time today to count your blessings.

Make sure your spouse knows you love him/her.
Tell your kids today how much you love them and how proud you are to be their parent.
Tell your friends how much you appreciate their honesty and faithfulness to you.
If you love your job, tell your boss.
If you appreciate your employees, let them know.
If someone has encouraged you, encourage them back!
If someone has been kind to you, pass it on.
Express your gratefulness. We so often forget to say what we feel.
Give. You can't keep it anyway, so give it away.

Today is a gift.

"Many people will praise God because you obey the Good News of Christ—the gospel you say you believe—and because you freely share with them and with all others. And when they pray, they will wish they could be with you because of the great grace that God has given you. Thanks be to God for his gift that is too wonderful for words." 2 Corinthians 9:13-15

  2. Wow Laura,
This was kinda God timing that I read this blog. I have really really been struggling this week with my situation. This morning I saw a picture of the woman that my husband left me and my children for. Just last night, my child who now has extreme anxiety issues because of her father leaving (she is almost 11), was terrified of a cloud in the sky. I am emotionally exhausted yet I continue to trust in the Lord for my every need. Right before I read your blog I said to the Lord.. I just want Something to look forward to...through you He says to me..how bout TODAY. You have the whole rest of the day to LIVE. WOW. I have a GOD who is insanely in love with me who is near to me and my broken heart. Who has an unbelievable plan for my life... Laura..Thank you for your encouragement to me today! You wrote this several days ago, but it was for me TODAY. I'm praying for you!!!!
